Rachel has over a decade of experience working with children in various settings, she creates a warm, empathetic environment where small hearts feel safe to express themselves. In non-directive play therapy, she trusts children's natural ability to use play to process emotions and experiences. With tweens and teens, she builds trust through humor and genuine connection, supporting their independence and resilience as they navigate life's challenges.
Before moving to Houston, Rachel earned her Social Work degree at Southern Connecticut State University, driven by a passion for children's emotional growth. She has worked with refugee and immigrant families as Director of Health at Elena's Light and counseled adolescents in the New Haven school system, where she gained deep insight into supporting youth facing systemic challenges like poverty, housing instability, and mental health struggles.
